Spider crane

Our spider crane, also known as mini crawler crane, is a compact tracked lifting machine designed for tight and restricted working spaces. It features a multi-section telescopic boom, outriggers for stable support and rubber tracks for excellent off-road mobility. It can operate indoors, between buildings, in narrow alleyways, on rooftops and sloped ground where large cranes cannot access. It is widely used for glass installation, steel structure hoisting, equipment handling, maintenance and renovation projects. We offer various lifting capacities and optional functions such as wireless remote control, jib attachment and man basket, with full customization available to match your lifting site requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spider crane

FAQ

  1. Where is a spider crane mainly applied? The spider crane is specially developed for confined and hard-to-reach work areas. Typical scenarios include interior decoration glass installation, curtain wall construction, rooftop hoisting, narrow workshop equipment relocation, steel frame assembly, bridge maintenance and garden engineering. Its small footprint makes it a perfect alternative to large truck cranes when space is limited.
  2. What lifting tonnage do you supply? Our standard spider crane models cover lifting capacity from 1 ton to 8 tons. Custom larger or special-spec versions are negotiable. The actual safe lifting weight is affected by boom extension angle, working radius and outrigger layout. Our sales team will select the right model according to your maximum load and working radius.
  3. Does the spider crane support remote control? Yes. Wireless remote control is standard or optional depending on the model. Operators can stand at a safe distance to control travelling, boom extension, luffing, slewing and hoisting. Manual control on the machine body is also reserved as backup. An emergency stop button is equipped both on the remote and main unit.
  4. What power options are available? We provide diesel engine drive, electric motor drive and dual power (diesel + electric) versions. Diesel models suit outdoor sites without power supply. Pure electric spider cranes run quietly with zero emissions, ideal for indoor construction and enclosed environments. Dual power models can switch freely for flexible use.
  5. Can it work on sloped ground? It can travel and work on gentle slopes within its allowable gradient. Before lifting, the four outriggers must be fully deployed and leveled to guarantee stability. The machine is fitted with a tilt alarm system. If the inclination exceeds the safe threshold, it will trigger an alarm and restrict lifting action to prevent tipping.
  6. Are the tracks rubber or steel? Rubber track is standard. It protects floors, tiles, lawns and finished ground from scratches and damage, with low running noise. Steel tracks are available as an option for long-term heavy-duty use on rocky, rough construction sites with high wear.
  7. Can I add extra attachments? Certainly. Common optional attachments include fly jib for extra reach, glass suction cup for glass installation, aerial work basket for personnel lifting and hydraulic grapple. We can configure the machine and adjust hydraulic output to fit your chosen accessories.
  8. Is it complicated to operate? The control system is user-friendly. Operators can learn basic operation after professional short training. We supply detailed operation manuals, safety guidelines and operation videos. Operators must follow safety procedures and check outriggers and load limits before hoisting.
  9. What is your warranty and after-sales support? The main structural frame comes with a 3-year warranty. Core components including engine, hydraulic pump, hydraulic motor and slewing reducer follow the original component supplier’s warranty terms. We maintain stock of common spare parts and offer online technical guidance and fault diagnosis.
  10. What about lead time and export documents? Standard spider cranes can be delivered within 7–15 working days. Custom configured machines take roughly 15–25 working days. We can provide CE certificate, commercial invoice, packing list and other documents for customs clearance. Machines are packed in fumigated wooden cases suitable for sea shipment.
